A Call To Prayer

First of all, I encourage you to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and prayers of thanks for all people, for rulers, and for everyone who has authority over us. Pray for these people so that we can have a quiet and peaceful life always lived in a godly and reverent way. This is good and pleases God our Savior. He wants all people to be saved and to learn the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1‭-‬4 GW

God knows the end from the beginning. He is the Alpha and the Omega. All things were created by Him, through Him, and for Him. We exist for His pleasure.

Yet, our God is long-suffering. He is patient for our sake. He is not slack in fulfilling His promise to destroy this present world with fire and to create a new Heaven and a new Earth. He just wants all people to have an opportunity to be saved.

How will they be saved? How will they come to a knowledge of the truth? How will they learn to live by faith and not by sight?

Someone must tell them.

Someone must share the Good News.

Someone must love the lost enough to help them while they are trapped in their sin.

Who will go?

Who will send?

Who will welcome them in to their new faith family?

God only knows those who He chose before the foundations of the Earth to be His disciples.

One of these days it will be perfectly clear.

Until that time comes, we must pray. That is where we find our peace.

I don’t know about you, but does a quiet and peaceful life lived in a godly and reverent way no longer seem to be the norm?

What do you think God is trying to tell us through our circumstances?

What do you think is the appropriate response?

I think God is showing us how fragile our world is. One shock to the system and pandemonium breaks out.

It’s time to return to the godly discipline of prayer. How else will we know how to navigate these perilous times?

Father in Heaven, You are the only God. Lead us O God to repentance. Lead the nations to repent of their wicked ways and return to following You, O Lord. Forgive us for leading lives of idolatry and selfishness. We have all gone astray like sheep. Lead us back into relationship with the Shepherd of our souls, the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray for all humanity to be saved by the power of the Holy Spirit drawing them to the truth. We pray for humble hearts that will receive the truth. Help us to remember to pray for everyone to be saved. God have mercy on us all. Amen
